Blood Orange Margarita
Today was National Margarita Day, so we had no choice but to honor it. We spent the weekend drying some blood orange slices, and we had another one for juicing, so it was time to put them to use! This recipe was taken from Todd & Diane, the White On Rice Couple. If you're used to a lot of the classic Margarita recipes, this one might have a bit more liquid than you're accustomed to. But the ratios were spot on. For those who like a little spice, you can definitely kick this one up a notch with some jalapeño-infused tequila.
3 oz fresh blood orange juice
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
2 oz tequila
1 dried blood orange slice, for garnish
Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker tin and add ice. Shake for 15 seconds. Strain into a salt-rimmed glass, garnish with the dried blood orange slice, and serve.
